Mommy and Daddy getaway for the first time in 9 years!

We were blessed with such a special day on Sunday. Since Scott had been offered a job in Mcminnville, he decided I should get to go and see what the town looked like. It's about 4 hours away. Scott's parents offered to take the kids for the day so he and I could drive over by ourselves. I was a little weary of leaving my little ones, but decided it would be nice for us to go alone, and spend time together just the two of us...

We left, not to early, in the morning, after getting the kids ready to go to church with Grandma and papa. We ate breakfast out, and then headed up to Mcminnville. We had fun talking and singing together in the truck, and holding hands. It was such fun. We got to Mcminnville around lunch time, and ate and cruised around the area. It is very farm-like, and pretty. I thought I would know what God wanted for us by going there, but I just didn't know as we drove around. But I should know soon....

Anyway, after we looked around awhile, Scott asked me if I wanted to go to the coast, because we were very close to it. I said, "Yes!" So to the coast we went. We stopped at some of the little towns and I got to see some of his favorite places he remembered from his childhood. We went into little stores filled with glass and breakables, just because we could, and there were no little curious hands to worry about. Just ours holding onto one another's as we sauntered along the street, and looked in the shops. We left the little town, and continued down the coast. We stopped at some beautiful parts of the beach, where we played on the rocks, explored caves, and walked hand-in-hand down the shoreline.

It was the most beautiful day I can ever recall. It was like God granted us this special time, and the weather was perfect, and our hearts were overflowing, and it was almost like a movie...it was so special. We found this beautiful secluded place to park and watch the sun go down. It was so breathtaking. I just sat in my husband's arms and stared out at the vast ocean, and we waited for the sun to drop behind the horizon. It was indescribible. It was so romantic, and we were sitting on this mountain on the ground just silent, watching God's creation... Awesome...

I couldn't believe how quickly the sun sets once it starts to go down. It took less than 5 minutes. That was the first time I had ever sat down and watched the sunset, and it was amazing. Sitting in my husband's strong arms, watching this, was a moment I will never forget in my life.

We went and had dinner, and drove home, and on the way home, like the perfect ending in a movie, the fireworks lit up the sky, literally. We saw the most beautiful fireworks, and we pulled over to watch them, and we just looked at each other and laughed. We couldn't believe how much God had blessed us! It was such a special day for us...one that we will hold dear to our hearts...Thank you Lord for this day...Thank you Scott for all the ways you make me feel so special...You are a joy to share the journey with....I am honored to be your wife.

You guys, I have been so thankful for Jessica's prayers for me, that I was apt to keep you all in mine all weekend and I remember praying for you to receive special blessings of the little things this weekend. I really believe God doesn't use me to grant these prayers, but placed in on my heart to pray for them so that He would be all the more glorified with what He surely knew He was about to do for you. It gives me great peace and satisfaciton to see what He's doing in your lives! Thank you for letting me pray and for sharing your lives here!
